Our mission
CURE Education Association, Inc. helps communities restore what was lost — language, traditions, and traditional knowledge — through learning.
Our vision
Tribal Nations communities where language is spoken in every home, elders' knowledge is carried forward by young people, and education strengthens — rather than erases — cultural identity.
The meaning behind the name
CURE stands for Communities United for Restoration & Education. The name tells the story: "cure" suggests healing, and "Restoration & Education" explains how that healing happens — communities coming together to restore what was taken, through teaching and learning.
Our approach
- Community-led. Each community decides what restoration looks like for them. We support their priorities; we do not set them.
- Elder-guided. Knowledge keepers and elders shape what is taught and how it is shared.
- Respectful of sovereignty. We honor each nation's sovereignty and cultural protocols, and we follow community guidance on what knowledge may be shared and with whom.
